Picking a dance instructor can be a difficult decision. The right instructor for someone else may not necessarily be the right instructor for you. Keep in mind that the way an instructor teaches group classes or workshops may not be the same way they teach private lessons. Try taking a few private lessons from the instructor you are considering. You'll want to find an instructor that helps you best reach your goals in dancing. Keep in mind that your goals will change over time, plus your needs and abilities will also change over time. Perhaps a particular instructor is not a good match for you as a beginner, but may be better for you as you become more experienced, or vice versa, perhaps a particular instructor is really great for you while you are new to dancing, but not what you need as you discover and learn more about what you want out of dancing.

While there are benefits to training with various instructors, keep in mind that it can also get confusing, just as learning math from different people can get confusing in the beginning. When starting out, try to stick to a single instructor for a while, but don't be afraid to take advantage of classes or workshops with other instructors to broaden your horizon.
