Frequently Asked Questions:

What is social dancing?
What dances do you teach?
Do I need a partner to learn to social dance?
What kind of shoes/clothes should I wear when dancing?
How long will it take me to learn how to dance?
Dancing is an art and a skill. You cannot learn to dance in a single lesson, no more than you can learn to play a musical instrument in a single lesson. It takes time and practice to both learn and improve. While the journey is different for everyone, learning to dance is definitely a journey. While taking private lessons will help you learn more in a shorter period of time, it still takes time and practice. We recommend a combination of private lessons, group lessons, as well as lots of practice by social dancing with other dancers. Consistency is more important than intensity, so even if you can only devote time only once a week, you'll find steady improvement in your social dancing skills. In a matter of weeks you can begin to develop skills for social dancing and within two or three months you'll begin to develop a level of comfort and familiarity in social dancing.
